Joshua Tree National Park
The Story:
Joshua Tree National Park is an under-appreciated destination, and that's good since, as always, I like to have it all to myself. This photo was taken at 7:31 a.m. on JUne 10, 2014 and I never saw another soul. I got there just before sunrise, and for this shot I waited for the ridge of sunlight to advance down to the bottom of the hils so I'd have the silhouettes of the trees against the sunlight. I only had one morning there; I want to go back.
