Church of Golden, N.M.

The Story:

Golden, New Mexico, is just south of Madrid on highway 14.   Next to the Chimayo Sanctuary about an hour north of here, it is perhaps the most painted and photographed churches in New Mexico.   For many year, two evergreen trees grew in the front, all but hiding the subtle, quaint ambiance of the entrance.   In 2019 the trees were removed, to reveal the wonderful face of this poignent church that simply glows in the late afternoon sun.   Because of the rich dark tones in parts of this photo, I recommend only infused aluminum for the presentation.
