The Old Church in Snow
The Story:
First thing in the morning, January 1, 2019, I rushed out to try to get to Corrales' "Old Church" before there were footprints in the snow. Large flurries were still coming down so took a lot of shots through the open window of my vehicle. The snow was coming down so heavily that it was actually difficult to see the church so I went home (a couple of miles away) and watched the weather. The snow subsided and I ultimately came back at 1:37 in the afternoon to take this shot. The composition is a little unorthodox which bothers some people, but others really like it. The historic Casa San Ysidro Museum is in the background at the far right. This photograph, because of the lighting and the painterly look, looks best on canvas.
